ALERT - Enforcement Stepped Up Against Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs)
As a result of recent pressure from legislators, patient right activists and other sources, all which claim that
the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration ("AHCA") has been slow to act or lax in enforcing State laws
regulating assisted living facilities (ALF's), AHCA has stepped up the institution of enforcement actions against
ALF's seeking to impose monetary fines for cited violations and even seeking to revoke licenses.
It is imperative that ALF's be in full compliance, especially during this time of heightened scrutiny.
In the event you receive notice of any violations, fines or administrative complaint, the Health and Business
Law Group is available to assist you with these type of matters. Do not procrastinate under any circumstances.
Failure to respond timely to any AHCA action may result in the imposition of fines, suspension or revocation of
your AHCA license and your ability to continue operating your business and caring for your residents.
